Basics in Office 365

Task 1 - Signing-on

 

GOAL:

  • Sign-on to Office 365.

If we want to work with Office 365, it is necessary to sign-on. Use address k2poland.sharepoint.com, or k2finland.sharepoint.com to sign-on. Click on "Member Login" and use userID and password, which you obtained via email. After signing-on process you will pass to world of Office 365. There you have to click on "Web" button and structure of pages will show up. Then click on one of the pages and you will be directly in editation environment.


Task 2 - New page 

GOAL:

  • Create new page
  • Use template "Homepage"
  • Place page on first place in navigation

 

We are in editation enviroment of Office 365. Click on "New page" to create new page. In next dialog choose one of templates - Homepage. Next step is location of your new page in structure (navigation). Title and URL of your new page will be homepage. Put it on the first place in navigation.


Task 3 - Another template

 

GOAL:

  • Create new page
  • Use template "General"
  • Place page on second place in navigation

If we want to try work with text, we need to create new page based on universal template. You already know the process of page creation, so use template "General"  and choose own name. Put the page on second place of navigation.


Task 4 - Page content - text

 

GOAL:

  • Paste or type in two paragraphs of text
  • Freely format text

Text fields are surrounded by an orange dashed line. We can add pictures, tables and texts into these fields. If we would like to work with text, behavior of this system is the same as in Word.


Task 5 - Page content - images 

GOAL:

  • Upload the picture into the system 
  • Add picture into the page
  • Set site of picture to 450x325 px

Pictures you can insert into the pages just like in Word. So click on the insert image, upload image into the system and insert it into the page. When you click on the picture, tools for work with images will appear in ribbon - here you can set the border, indentation, alignment, size.


Task 6 - Footer 

GOAL:

  • Open editation window for footer 
  • Insert 4 links
  • Insert @K2 project 2011/2012 below footer - grey color of text, size 2

To edit footer you have to click on it. Footer is the same for the entire site. At the top of the window click on "Add link" and insert 4 items. You can also paste the text below the footer, such as copyright.


Task 7 - Miniapplications - Video 

GOAL:

  • Insert any video - source f.e. youtube

To insert a video simply click on the appropriate gadget. Then you have to insert HTML code or URL of video. You can set some properties of miniapplication - Properties gadget is active now.


Task 8 - Miniapplications - Presentation 

GOAL:

  • Create a slideshow of 5 images
  • Find the needed images for presentation
  • Drag and drop images into your presentation
  • Select any style of presentation

For insert presentation is necessary to have prepared a series of images. We can easily prepare simple gallery. After clicking on a slide just select the sourcefiles and drag them into Albums presentation.


Task 9 - Miniapplications - Map&Router planner 

GOAL:

  • Insert map into the page with location of your office
  • The map have to be interactive and medium sized

To add a map or route, first of all you must change the default address. On the second tab "Display Options" can be sep up all map details.
